The SoMa Scene
The South of Market District, commonly referred to as SoMa, is one of the larger San Francisco neighborhoods. It is home to the tech industry, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Moscone Center.
The most expensive zip code in San Francisco is located in SoMa’s South Beach sub-neighborhood. It is also set to be the home of the Salesforce Tower in 2018. It will be the tallest building in California, standing at 1,070 feet tall.
SoMa does not only have a heavy investment in tech but food culture as well. Culinary hotspots vary widely in price and presentation. You could grab a super burrito at Taqueria Cancun or have a full four course meal at AQ for $100 a head.
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is set to reopen on May 14, 2016. It has been a fixture in SoMa since 1995 but closed in 2013 to remodel and expand.
SoMa is a district that is constantly changing. There is always a project to finish or a new one to begin.
